Seamless Migration is seeking a career and customer-oriented Senior Systems Engineer - Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), to join our team in Springfield, VA.

CLEARANCE

• Active TS/SCI clearance (existing clearance required to start)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph

LOCATION

• Springfield, VA

OVERVIEW

• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technologies including systems, applications, and services supporting IT enterprise hosting platforms.
• Responsible for engineering and operational assignments related to storage, virtualization (e.g., appliances, servers, VDI), and data protection (e.g., backups, replication, disaster recovery).
• Support and oversee all Infrastructure team Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for solutions utilizing Citrix, Microsoft, and VMware.
• Lead troubleshooting and problem resolution efforts, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Maintain documentation for Infrastructure systems, including as-built documentation, capacity/performance plans, and system lifecycle planning.
• Collaborate with IT Architecture and Engineering (A&E) teams to assess and implement new technologies for modernizing infrastructure solutions.
• Support the customer’s IT enterprise at data centers or remote sites, with travel limited to 15% annually.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years in engineering, implementing, and supporting Nutanix and/or VMware virtualization systems.
• 5+ years in engineering and supporting enterprise-level NetApp storage systems.
• 5+ years designing solutions in secure environments adhering to U.S. Government Information Assurance standards (e.g., DISA STIGs).
• 3+ years in implementing and maintaining HCI solutions, preferably Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform.
• Proven experience in performance optimization, task leadership, and managing globally dispersed teams.
• GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) or Security+ CE or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP).

NICE TO HAVE

• Certifications in enterprise-level virtualization vendors (e.g., Nutanix Certified Advanced Professional (NCAP)).
• NetApp certifications: NCIE – Data Protection Specialist, NCIE – SAN Specialist, ONTAP.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Physical and tiered storage system configurations.
  • Virtualization hypervisors from Microsoft, Nutanix, and VMware.
  • Hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) technologies.
  • Data protection technologies (e.g., NetApp, Nutanix) with defined RTOs and RPOs.
  • On-premises cloud-based Simple Storage Service (S3) solutions.
  • Veeam Availability Suite, Nutanix Calm, and Nutanix Flow.
• Familiarity with:
  • Citrix-based VDI systems, including Virtual Apps and Desktops, and Application Delivery Controller (ADC).
  • Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) technologies.
  • Basic networking troubleshooting concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerShell or Python for automation and orchestration.
