Clearance

Overview

• Provides a combination of software and systems engineering knowledge, skills, abilities, standards, and best practices to the Systems Engineering and Architecture Services (SEAS) team
• Implements modern and next-generation IT solutions leveraging a wide variety of vendors and cloud-native technologies
• Supports the development, maturity, and efficiency of an information technology system through:
  • Architecting scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions and leading migration of legacy systems to modern cloud environments
  • Engineering and implementing secure, scalable, and automated container and orchestration solutions for microservices and cloud-native applications
  • Implementing infrastructure-as-code and automation pipelines for repeatable and reliable container deployments
  • Capturing, analyzing, and decomposing Government, stakeholder, technical, and product requirements to develop formal solution recommendations
  • Defining and designing baseline/standard service offerings with supporting documentation such as integration guides, migration plans, and risk assessments
  • Providing technical leadership for container platform adoption, modernization, and migration, including SME support for complex issues
  • Developing and implementing best practices through standards, guidelines, processes, and procedures
  • Creating presentations, reviewing proposals/change requests, and providing recommendations for decision boards such as the architecture review board, technical review board, and program control board

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience engineering and implementing cloud solutions (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure) with proficiency in:
  • Strategy development
  • Networking
  • Security
  • Disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Automation and orchestration
• 5+ years of hands-on experience engineering and implementing enterprise-level container orchestration platform solutions such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, or Google GKE with proficiency in:
  • Cluster management
  • Deployment and automation
  • Monitoring and logging
  • Security
  • Troubleshooting and performance optimization
• Strong analytical, technical, communication, planning, presentation, and organizational skills with the ability to convey ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Certification: CompTIA Security+

Nice To Have

• Understanding of systems development life cycle methodologies such as waterfall, spiral, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, and DevSecOps
• Familiarity with DevSecOps operations in hybrid IT organizations, including collaboration across Engineering, Operations, Cybersecurity, and Project Management teams
• Kubernetes technical certifications such as:
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator
  • Certified Kubernetes Developer
• Cloud-native credentials such as:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Associate
• Knowledge of various cloud technologies and experience supporting infrastructure in hybrid cloud environments
